About Us

MA_TLIM_bookAt the heart of Mindanao, in the Province of Bukidnon, Marywoods Academy is helping to develop a new generation of citizens and leaders with character and competence.

Marywoods is part of “The Leader in Me” program, which integrates into the school curriculum the “7 Habits of Highly Effective People” of renowned author Stephen R. Covey.

Marywoods is one of the first schools in the country to be part of this leadership program.

Relevant Curriculum & Best Practices in Teaching

The goal of our curriculum is to nurture and unleash the potential inherent in each child. The student is an active participant in his own learning rather than a passive recipient of instruction. Students explore and discover rather than simply memorize and accept information.

The Academic Program develops competence in Language, Mathematics and Science. English is used as the medium of instruction. The use of Singapore Mathematics gives a solid foundation for critical thinking and mathematical skills.

The learning process engages all intelligences to cultivate the unique talents of each student.

Developing the Leader in Every Child

We believe that a young leader becomes an adult leader. Leadership abilities do not simply appear when one becomes older. These abilities are discovered, developed, and nourished. Thus, Marywoods begins leadership training while children are still young.

We envision children who will grow up to be leaders wherever they are and in whatever field of endeavor they enter into in the future.

Marywoods prepares students to flourish and succeed in the 21st century by developing in them:MA_gift_giving

Building a Nation

Marywoods believes that to help in nation-building, we must provide the kind of education that our youth need to become responsible and capable citizens.  We must form a generation of future leaders who will competently serve our communities and country.

We must invest in giving our youth the skills and the character foundation that they need to face the challenges of our changing world. Through this, we will then create a generation that is capable of managing the social, economic, and political fabric of our nation.
