On July 19 to 24, the 13 students in high school will go to Manila for their annual Field Trip. They will be accompanied by School Director Ms. Ruth Ignacio. Also going with the group are Mrs. Ching Callao and Mr. Andres F. Ignacio.
The main event will be their attendance to the Ignatian Festival 2013 at the Ateneo de Manila University. The Ignatian Festival aims to gather alumni, friends, students, faculty, and staff of the Ateneo de Manila to commemorate the annual Feast of St. Ignatius de Loyola (July 31), the founder of the Jesuits.
For this year, the second Ignatian Festival, the theme chosen is “Lahing Loyola, Para sa Kapwa!” This theme focuses on the social dimensions of Ignatian and Jesuit spirituality, as highlighted in the Ateneo education thrust of forming “men-and-women-for-others,” and the continuing role of the Ateneo de Manila University in the challenge of nation-building and social development.
The keynote speaker for the event will be His Excellency President Benigno S. Aquino III. Other invited speakers will be from different fields of involvement in government, social development, business, and media and arts. (Click here for more information)
Ms. Ruth Ignacio will be one of the speakers in the said event. She wil share her personal experience on “How the Ateneo education has helped me contribute to nation-building”. She will talk about why and how she founded Marywoods Academy and how it operates as a leadership school under FranklinCovey’s “The Leader in Me” program.
After attending the Ignatian Festival, the students will proceed to have their educational field trip in Manila. (see below for more information)
